1360 cc double carb

Which had a 1300 cc boosting 102-ish horsepower ... The 106 Rally came later obviously and was probably a true fun car as well. My 205 XS is funny but not like the GTI's or the Rally ... though it was cheap as chips .. so no complaining

One learns every day but then there was also a Citroen Visa GTi, which apparently drove even better than the 205 equivalent but is completely impossible to find these days...

I'm really starting to like that car. Compared to the average cars here on the road it's quite fast and i start to like the fuel economy

I just took the 205 out for a first test ... errrr ... i think the previous owner must have done something to the engine. Never seen such a revving thing !

.. going 'hard' in a turn .. and then there's absolutely no sensation or whatever, realizing i could have gone at least 40 km/h faster Bad judgement in speed, but better 40km/h too slow than 40 km/h too fast i guess.

.. on a public road is criminal ... even with my Clio RS i reach speeds that are just crazy .. and the Beemer almost reaches the same speeds but makes it even more reckless as there's a bigger, wider, heavier lump i'm pulling along ... .

The cars just got too heavy and fast for the average roads. One can still enjoy them fully on something like an empty German Autobahn but even that is becoming a rare treat. The East German ones can be fun, as is the A96 between Munich and Lindau...

From a driving perspective the less desirable GT, with X-drive. But then again small children need space The engine, combined with the 8 speed auto is a real gem, though and as you said, the fuel consumption miserly.

Do you have any pics ? The GT looks so innocent (unless you took the M-pack) and is a bit of a sleeper with that engine ! Choosing the 4WD isn't a bad choice considering otherwise you get the FWD . I could have bought a fully loaded 120d X-drive M-pack pr... 

And the winter wheels (17 inch). And when ordering, there was no option to take the 20d with FWD - only came some months later. And for Austria AWD is definitely the more comfortable choice in winter... ...  

Definately 4WD if available ...

So far, with the car not even experiencing proper rain, and no driving in anger, the AWD has not been tasked very hard. You can feel the power transfer rearward just before understeer would set in otherwise, which is nice. Need a better playground than th... 

Our roads have become so busy it's a real challenge to find time and space for a proper high-speed run ... when we were young(er) we went out at night when there was much less traffic so we had the roads for ourselves and could see very far because of the... 

I know exactly what you are saying. Driving to the other end of the country for a pizza (excuse, actually just for the drive), pretty unthinkable these days. I did a couple of cool road trips in the recent years, but these will also have to take a rain ch...
