… it’s almost a unicorn here in my land so it’s easy to understand that my heart pounded fast and loud when I found this little car parked in front of the restaurant I visited today. Of course I like more the first series of the Type E but I confess I wou...

Trust me Abel,

that one is a unicorn anywhere in the world .... I don't even remember when was the last time I saw one in Los Angeles.... Cheers, and thank you for the pictures!! Filip

Thank you Filip! I guess these cars are now in hands of collectors who only take them out of their garages for special events only considering the high prices they reached.

Here in my Country have arrived very very few in the 1960's and 1970´s a probably a few collectors have imported a few more in the last decade. Interesting to know it is rare in California as well. It´s always a pleasure when we classic car lovers can vie...

As Filip said, it is quite uncommon in So Cal as well

Yes, masking the license plate is smart. A long time ago i ask Nicolas to remove a picture i post. I guess Abel can not edit the picture anymore, so a moderator must do. Here a car with a masked license plate. ...

Ha ha ha!! Thank you IWC! That car was parked outside the restaurant. I tried to maintain the privacy but ommited to mask that shot and posted. I don´t know the owner of that car.

Interesting to know that it is uncommon in California too. But I bet there are many many more than here in my Country, as I explained to Filip above. Thank you so much for viewing and commenting. Cheers! Abel

Magnificent!

A Black paint, Black top, Black leather XK V12 would have melted in Southern California

or burnt up from overheating. These cars are rare for number of good reasons. Here is its cousin, an XJ-C V12; one I had first hand experience with: We had to change all the rubber hoses on this engine, which had deteriorated from heat and old age. A love...

Thank you so much dear Mike! A lovely car you share here. I understand your point. Well, temperatures also run very high on Summers down here. 38 to 42 Celcius is not uncommon...

... (that´s around 100/104 F ) and guess an all black car would be very uncomfotable to ride and a crowded engine compartment like in these Jaguars must be like a little Hell indeed. Can well imagine rubber hoses and other components would suffer so much....

In fact the later V12 Jaguar actually had a "cooling fan" on the battery

 By: cazalea : June 13th, 2022-20:59
in an attempt to keep the battery from boiling on hot days. Not always successfully! My friend Steve's car (inherited from his father) boiled over when new, battery acid ran down into the passenger compartment and ate up all the carpet. What Jaguar would ...

Hello Mike! Interesting to know about the Jag special fan for the battery!! And also enjoyed to read the story about you having to abandon the Jag through the door window! Lol!!

Loved the garage picture as well. Thank you so much for sharing all these experiences my dear Mike! I always enjoy so much reading and viewing! Best cordial regards, Abel PS: Agree that a white or silver Jag is the best option! Lol!
