Pacific Beach - Automotive Finds

We walked this morning in a neighborhood called Pacific Beach. It’s north of Mission Beach and south of La Jolla. It’s primarily residential, originally single-family homes but now apartment-ized. We’ve been there often, but seldom on foot, and we found a lot more to report on than will fit in one post! I decided to split it up, so here are the vehicle finds, and they were terrific!

Thunderbird anyone?

A nice 1962 T-Bird for $10k if you don’t mind giving it a detail…

Next stop, a new Bronco and golf cart combo. We saw at least a dozen golf carts cruising the streets.

And a few SUVs on the other side. That Ford is Looonnnggg.

A fine example of how not to park on a busy corner coming off the busiest street in the area… this Audi’s rear end is asking for a bashing!

The first of the JDM cars seen today (Japanese Domestic Market) is a Toyota right-hand drive turbo diesel van with sky roof.

It does have Calif plates - somehow they got it in.

A very broad-minded vintage car/truck collector. It’s very rare to see Chevy and Ford and Cadillac in the same driveway, front lawn and street. A handy car trailer is on the back of his old Ford F250.

Not to mention the two boats in the drive, and wonder what’s in the garage? I thought to go check his alley but then forgot.

A cute Baja bug VW painted to match the house (more or less)

It looked like this GMC van was shoved in the garage and has been sticking out like this for about 20 years.

Just Call Me Butch — a Isuzu Vehicross with accessories galore - rack, light bar, snorkle, tire on roof, winch, etc.

A nice-looking Toyota which I almost mistook for a Bronco. It has that soft paint color...

First of three moms seen hauling Jr off to school in the golf cart. Notice she’s even barefoot!

I think this is a Subaru trucklet, and is that an AMG or better Mercedes in the background?

Giant Ford Raptor glaring from the opposite curb at the right hand drive stranger.

I know which one I’d put my money on in case of a road incident!

I think we all can agree on this, no matter what our political leanings

A very shiny 550 SL not a McLaren (I was hopeful).

A very clean Corvette, Seventies so about 50 years old! It looks very long, doesn’t it.

No words for this!

A VW Van low-rider? What?

Caught this 55 or 56 Chevy on the roll, heading for the beach, and he gave me a big thumbs up as we crossed.

Finally the coup de gras - a genuine hook & ladder fire truck.

I even got a big thumbs up from the rear steer captain.

Awesome. Look at it shine!

My wife informed me this is diamond plate. How many carats, I wonder? Lots and lots.

Thanks for walking and cruising with us today.
