I hadn’t seen this reference before in any posts. What I am appreciating more about AP is their expertise with materials to model beautiful pieces. My understanding and experience are limited, but besides AP and Bvlgari, there isn’t another brand that manufactures for example ceramic, titanium, or forged carbon pieces at the same volume. And even in this comparison you may say AP pieces are more impressive with their bracelet included. Note:I am excluding RM from this thought of mine.
So perhaps this piece you posted was another effort to showcase APs capabilities with materials 🤔.

I'm with you as well...
I think the original intention and design was excellent - but there was room for improvement for the material. Maybe it paved the way for the use of Carbon TPT and other novel materials. One day maybe they can make a self-healing version? Cheers Peter
