They had a millenary with this dial few years back
But they seem to have improved the process since the edges for each "dent" appear a bit more straight.
I really like it. Should be nice to see how it looks, live.
Technically, my guess would go toward a grinding approach. Small ~spherical stone with big grit. Would love to try this someday.
