That 44 is a wonder for sure.
I briefly owned the titanium and ceramic grey dial model, oh how I loved that watch. The 43mm fits so much better, even better than the 42 if you can believe that. My wrist is very flat on top, so the 44 was OK, but these little case changes make a big difference.

I'll continue to try and bring the insight of a long time AP collector. There really is lots to discuss with the watch, and I will get to some more detailed posts about it.

At 43mm it fits me wel. Your pictures shows the shapes, so i know it fits me very wel. Hight is huge, it’s serious business.
I think the ergonomics / fit / feel are a significant part of this new design.
AP is a stating it, so we should confirm it. And I definitely do!

In terms of a new model. I was tempted by some of the others that were launched in recent years - the commando, the green-ish 44, the Pride of Germany, etc. But I am very glad I waited, I knew something more to my liking was coming along

I feel AP led the charge with "smoked" dials. Starting with blue, and now others.
This is a brand often copied, but never replicated. How many other brands now offer dials that darken on the perimeter... To see some of things they do is really cool, you certainly know exactly what I am talking about!
The way the dial color darkens and starts to meld into the inner tach and bezel...
And the black subdials and markers fill - it all goes together. Absolutely superb and unique design work by AP!
Not much attracted by Offshores usually, but this one is superb!
Since the Safari about 15 years back, that’s the coolest ROO in my view. Huge congratulations
