There have been indeed models of the Huitième family without the "Audemars Piguet" arching over the dial - but in terms of elegance and simplicity, the three hand versions seemed the most compelling to me, and I agree with your assessment in that respect.
For a comparison, pls refer to the classic chronograph, the tantalum-rose gold variant and the more modern sporty version of the Huitième.
Trying to imagine the three hand watch without the manufacture's name engraved still leaves me liking it the way it is.
We all have our flaws - yet we all have friends and spouses...
Rumor has it that some of us even find new friends talking about watches online.

I was very lucky to find such a nice piece in top condition... Couldn\'t resist. Given a bit of love and a new strap from the AP Service Centre and that\'s what I got back!

Michael and Ken - there\'s actually a nice one for sale in Italy (Chrono24), the only non-Chronograph piece I can see currently and it comes with a clasp. The way to your goal is where half the fun is... Good luck!

Glad you like these Huitièmes, they\'re surely not the first line that comes to mind when talking AP but have a lot going for them nonetheless... The fact that this line as well as the "Eduard Piguet" have been discontinued makes them all the more special...
