Hi all!

I hope this message finds you well.
I wanted to share with the community that I got stolen a Vintage Audemars Piguet Quantième Perpetuel Reference 5548, Serial B62999, from 1982.
It's a "swiss" only enamel dial that shows almost no spidering/cracks.

It got robbed in Hong Kong in June 28th 2024 this year.
I of course did a report to the local police, so far no updates from the investigation.

I am sharing here, in case anyone stumble upon it, online or in a shop somewhere.

I here attach some image of the timepiece,
It got stolen with the full package (box, paper, certificates, watch).

Thank you for your help guys

Does the manufacturer ever keep a database of stolen watches or do some others like resellers also keep a database of stolen watches? If they don't, maybe it's because of liability or potential hurt to the secondary market? Or maybe it doesn't happen enou...

Or the watch and its accessories stolen? It's scary if you were robbed on the street as Hong Kong is a relatively safe place.

in Hong Kong, it is safe, but I got into a scam

I actually sold the watch to a "scammer" that paid me with a fake transaction. Although I got notified from my bank that I had received the fund, it got bounced back after a few hours. I had already given the watch + accessories to the "suppose client" wh...

I am so sorry to hear this, which was another cheque (uncleared funds) scam.

I hope the police could locate the cheque account holder (unless the cheque book was also stolen), as a bounced cheque is a criminal offence.

Oh my! I don’t understand how the bank can verify funds and then have the money bounce back.

Are you sure this is a bounced check as opposed to a wire? Although a wire can’t bounce back once funds confirmed received, I believe. But even with a check, doesn’t bank notification of received funds mean that they verified money is there? Very scary an...

Indeed, this is leading to confusion

the HSBC banks does indicate the amount as Credit when a cheque is desposit into an account, however the amount can be removed after clearance. I am trying to raise a complaint to the bank as I think they have also "played a role" in this case....

So far no updates though, I think these process takes for ever. or under a certain $ amount the police just stops investigating....
