Jules Audemars Chronometer with AP Escapement
I’m sure you won’t mind a few gratuitous shots of this horological heavyweight. The Model 26153 Jules Audemars Chronometer has twin barrels providing a power reserve of 90h and the Audemars Piguet escapement (ChronAP) beats at 43,200vph (6Hz) using a small variable inertia balance wheel with a double hairspring.
This is the rose gold version but there is also platinum version with silver dial and accents.
The case measures 46x12.7mm and has a lovely colour palette with a black enamel dial with rose gold hands and barrel covers.
Calibre 2908 …
The original Pt version may have been released in 2009, but it was a rare and exciting moment to be able to strap it on.

Did you hear it?

Step one. Put watch on nightstand on a firm but anti-scratch surface. Step two. Turn off lights. Step three. Climb into bed. Step four. Listen for a mad mechanical watch ticking noise that has been likened to a "mad cricket" chirping.

Well Patrick, it IS fast. The Boutique was not the best environment to listen in - and I always listen to watches; its the reason I couldn't get the Journe DS and the Haldimann H1 out of my head - but it is an interesting sound. Hard to discern any differ...
Relatively small?

Thanks for the additional information, Patrick. 10mm is indeed a sizable diameter given the escapement speed. I suspect I could drive to work on the power in those twin barrels. But the balance wheel still feels a little lonely in that space. Having said ...
