Some of you might remember my original post when sometime last November, I picked up this “barn find” Audemars Piguet chronograph, while walking around in Manhattan’s diamond district.
It was an honestly worn twenty three years old watch, as it turned out, never serviced or polished(Pic.1-2.), but worn probably daily, since the bezel and crown as well as the case edges were all rounded, the bezel screws were sticking out, the movement while running, was dry, but the price(thanks to the modern trends), was a steal.

So I took a chance and immediately after I got it, walked over to the AP Boutique(20 minutes away), dropped it off for a complete service…
Four months and a painful bill later, here it is, in a brand new and I mean it, condition!

Unfortunately the bezel was un-saveable, so a new one was installed, and a minimal case polishing was also performed, to match the bezel.
As confirmed by AP, it was never touched due to the movements original state.
Anyway, now it’s back in its formal glory, and ready to be enjoyed!
Just love the size and comfort of this little watch!
Hope you enjoyed…
Zsolt.
P.S. I don’t know how you guys do years on waiting lists, since this four months for me felt like eternity
