I succumbed unfortunately..
I used to really like AP I have owned quite a few throughout my lifetime. I’ve had the AP jumbo 15202 in every dial color in ss and I had the ss perpetual calendar RO about 15 years ago. I regret selling that watch as well as the jumbos but I was anxious to try something new at the time. I just don’t like the games manufacturers play with us. So I vowed to never buy another AP a little while back. But…. Here I am adding another jumbo at a premium no less. I don’t plan to sell it and I don’t necessarily plan to buy more APs as my sentiment with the manufacturer hasn’t changed. But if I was going to only have one AP I felt this was the one to add for me. And yet here we are adding yet another YG piece

You're probably ahead just paying the premium vs buying the garbage they want you to buy to get a couple of pieces at list.
I've given up on Porsche for the same reason, fortunately I have the Porsches that I really want. Don't need or want any of the new stuff.

I am in a similar boat
I really love the Royal Oak but I do not like the manufacturer and I've almost always had really bad experiences at the boutiques. But for some reason I still own one and I want one in solid gold with an aged dial lol.. Yours looks amazing, congratulation...
Yup, same feelings about the manufacturer. I can be a very loyal customer but they don't care. And thus they lost me a long time ago.
But the jumbo is quintessential AP for me. Sort of like a speedie being quintessential for an Omega.
This is true Jacob, the older I get the less I care about image. I buy what I like.
When I was in my 30's I wanted all PT because it was stealthy and I loved the heft. Now that I am in my 40's I'm like F that. I prefer the colored metals, if I want stealth I'll just buy ss and save a lot of money.
haha yeah. Like you, I avoided YG/colored gold my whole life and now that I am in my 30s I am more comfy with it

And their are times of guilt that I feel, but it's a disease that we constantly battle with. And sometimes I win and sometimes I lose.

I guess that makes two of us:) The days are long but the years are short.
I would rather just swallow the premium pill once vs several times of a loss to chase an elusive piece. Watch manufacturers have essentially copied the Ferrari playbook. I just refuse to play that game.
