I might be considering a Royal Oak 14790...
Looking for a high quality "everyday beater". Now that I'm retired, it wont get much of a beating.
I've seen a few with brown dials and the sellers are calling then "tropical" because of the spotted areas on their dials.
I'm familiar with tropical Omega Speedmaster dials, but these AP dials appear to be more stained than than what I would call "tropical".
If anyone can shed some light on these dials I would be most grateful.

PS: I would actually prefer a white dial, but these seem to be a little more difficult to source.

I am in the same boat as you
Not retired yet but looking at that reference White dials should actually be more readily available, especially in the US it seems Stay away from tropical dials is my recommendation - see the specific AP perpetual thread today

Do these dials Oxidize?
One of the sellers has told me that the spots on his dial are caused by oxidation. It's a 4100 and appears to be the blue dial version. Is this type spotting, damage, common with these dials as this spotting also appears on a 14790 I have located.
White Dial - Where?
Thank you for your very informative response. I'll stay away from these "stained" dials. Maybe one of our members can point me to a white dial 114790 or maybe a 4100 series. Thanx-again, Miki
