I went to ap service center today to repair my 2 original AP wall clocks which I paid between 1-2k sgd each for, only to be told that they no longer take in wall clocks to be repaired. I was like ,”WTF?” Note to self - pls buy fake china-made AP clocks be... 

I have no idea whether these clocks were for sale to the public but others here seem to suggest they were not. If so, then of course AP wouldn't be set up to service them.

Would never happen at Patek but then again, they do not produce wall clocks for the general public. But if they did, I am sure they would be prepared to repair the clock. I hope you can find a good clock repairer for your repairs.

It’s not about getting it repaired outside but I would think I should be able to send it back to the manufacture or brand to fix. Otherwise why pay the premium?

Brands should be smart enough to treasure and to build customer relationships. The fact the you bought two AP clocks show that you are a hardcore customer and should be treated with even greater respect than most.

The stance is so different between their watches and clocks where they are so pushy in asking you to service the watch every few years and they try to upsell all kinds of servicing and cleaning. But for clocks - sorry - F***-off!

Yes in fact I checked with local watch makers and they mentioned that they don’t want to repair quartz because ap glues the movement to the clock and it’s not so easy or pretty to fix and they also can’t charge much so they rather not go through the hassl...

But we all know how it works 😅 Anyway, just to go to any watchmaker and ask for a new quartz movement to fit in. Much quicker and cheaper 😎

I guess people that cannot get one "for free" from AP resort to eBay and other places to buy them. On the bigger clocks, the movement is the simplest, typical little single AA quartz black box. Probably a $3 part. You really carried the clock into the ser... 

I checked with my watch maker here in singapore and he claims that he has repaired ap clocks and they glued the movement to the back of the clock thereby making it Super tedious to repair at the risk of damaging it. I am not aware of others who might have... 

They are third party produced and are promotional items for authorised retailers or contractual retail outlets like hotels , airports , banks, social club or stadiums. I have received many from different brands FOC & in-fact received and Ap wall clock whe...

Please don’t pass judgement without knowing all the facts . The customer service person at singapore ap Svc center did tell me that they “used” to service such wall clocks but stopped it a few years - unknown to a large majority of people here I believe a... 

It's not unreasonable to ask AP to service the clock, but to think AP gave you an "insane response" is unreasonable. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

It was a promotional item that was being serviced directly by ap previously until recently so I believe they should anticipate some folks who received it as a gift, who might not be aware that they stopped repairing such clocks, coming to the service cent... 

You were well within bounds to ask AP to service the clock; but under the circumstances, AP wasn't acting unreasonably to say no. Sorry your clock is not working; that's not an enviable position to be in... Cheers, John

At the end of the day these clocks are special to me as they’ve been with me for some time and gone to every new house I moved to . I’ve accepted that ap won’t fix it and I am just now trying to find solutions outside if possible.

At least since it’s ap and they were the ones who glued it they would know where they glued and how they glued it and perhaps would know how to replace it more efficiently . Bear in mind they did admit to servicing these clocks before. Going back to manuf...
