Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo "Battleship" Returns Home

Apr 08, 2011,13:45 PM

Last year was my first time to the AP factory. I was able to enjoy all access into the new facility.

Thank you to Pierre, Jenny-Lyne,Will, Martin, Octavio, Francisco and all the amazing staff at AP. They always have made me feel at home when I visit.

This year I was able to go visit the museum and broght along a special watch .

Starting out with my red-eye flight.

Travel Companion on many trips. So easy to wear.

Royal Oak Jumbo "Battleship" Going Back Home.

Settled In For The Flight

He was in this position for a long time.

Zurich to LeBrassus. Trains in Switzerland are a joy.

Back Home in LeBrassus! It's been about 17 Years!

Really great hotel. Amazing Food and Views as well.

I could come back every single year!

Waiting room. Coincidently I was here when basically every head of AP was here. There were board meetings and I spotted so many people we often see on the forums from the company. I even saw Jasmine Audemars outside.

On to the Museum. They use 3 colors in the museum to separate it. Here is the duplicate time capsule that they have burried under the new AP Factory.

I never knew that even today, a portion of every AP sold goes to this foundation. Really great stuff. In detail AP does a lot for the enviroment and is very concious of it's surrounding land.

Watches starting out with basic hand drawings. Then moving on to computers, CNC, etc. Great stuff.

Stages of machining.

The concept case is HUGE.

I need this sign.

Too much to write in detail but the history of the valley and all the watchmakers in the area would be appreciated by all here.

The craftsmanship in just building the machines that produced the watches is truly amazing.

One of the AP watchmakers built this replica and it actually is a working model. PASSION!

Original workbench and tools.

You could stare at these original works of art for hours. These remind me of the new AP Corporate movie:

www.audemarspiguet.com

Nice model and timeline of AP and where it is now

We had time to meet with the Tourbillon Department

Love it, AP everywhere.

These are screws for the Tourbillon. Like a spec of salt.

Checking out the "battleship"

How cool is this?

Francisco at the restoration Department. Basically gave me every single detail of the battleship. Thank you so much. Another great asset to AP.

Awesome trunk.

Time to go home.
