A Brief Report of my AP Royal Oak Chronograph ref.25960BC in White Gold & Salmon Dial
Jun 05, 2016,12:27 PM
Salmon dial is an acquired taste. I happen to LOVE it. I was lucky enough to have bumped into 2 outstanding samples of the Royal Oak with salmon dial. I did not get to keep the first one for long, which was a huge regret. Now with this 2nd piece of salmon dial that comes to my life, it sort of helps to allay my regret.
Picked up my new toy with my buddy Semper Fidelis who was wearing his new H. Moser Centre Seconds Concept Funky Blue.
WG case shines very differently from SS. That salmon dial makes my heart beats faster!
The dial pops under sunlight.
It was GREAT to find this watch in an old AP catalogue which I collected when I could only dream of owning an AP. How sweet my dream was!
Almost a quarter of a kilogram! The heft of WG always reminds me of its existence.
I am lucky that the AP logo is up-right when the crown is tightened. A should-have feature for watches at this price point IMO...
Do you notice that the thickness of the bracelet tapers gradually from the case-end to the clasp-end? This is the only bracelet that I've seen with such gradual taper in thickness. I really like these details. It makes the watch wear rather comfortably too!
Despite its shear weight of almost 230g, the watch is surprisingly comfortable on the wrist.
This is how my WG ROC with salmon dial looks like in a sunny outdoor.
This watch has certainly RESERVED a permanent place in my small collection!
Some casual wrist-shots to end the brief report...
Hope you have enjoyed reading!
Best,
Wayne
