Nicholas' wonderful pictures of a RO Jumbo insisted that I take a closer look in the AP case at my local dealer this week, and any time I take a close look, pictures ensue.
First an older Royal Oak triple date that the watchmaker was working on. Dial down only, since I didn't want to interrupt too much, but it shows the unusual case assembly technique. It took us a bit of time to figure out why only 6 of the 8 visible screw heads are functional, while the crown side is attached by the 4 flat-head screws you see at top. Eventually we concluded that the placement of the last 2 bolts would have come too close to the date correctors, so they made them decorative and put in the 4 screws.

The other is a brand-new ROO Scuba, boutique edition. First the red-accented dial
And finally the boutique facade engraved into the caseback.
I must admit to not being a huge fan of this model, it is very large, and due to the strap attachment system, wears even larger. Despite them having the same nominal case diameter, and the AP being many mm thinner, I found it felt larger than a PAM087!
