Looking for feedback from fellow forum members. Following the extremely fortunate opportunity to get a 26585CE I am now wondering if this and the original 26579CE can co-exist in the same collection. I understand the history and the importance of the 2657...  

I guess the way I think of it - is that if I have a hankering for a ceramic perpetual, it seems that naturally I will go for the skeleton one. They are different but I am not able to pull of double wristed yet!! Cheers Peter

I do on occasion get two examples of things that I really like - the difference in the dial alone may make it easier. Cheers Peter

Ha ha, kidding if course. I actually prefer the solid dial as I feel it is my only hope to read with aging eyes. On topic, I would seriously keep one and choose something different in place of the other. It's a great situation to contemplate!

I am leaning slightly to trade up with the original ceramic perpetual, simply because, except for legibility, the skeleton is a nice upgrade on multiple fronts - skeletonization as well as finishing is another level. Cheers Peter

They are different enough that it justifies having them both in the collection.

You're fortunate enough to be buying at MSRP so is that a possibility?

I’m initially inclined to agree with Michael, although there is a case to be made for them be different enough to keep both. In the final analysis, if I had to make the decision for myself then I know my mind would highlight the key differences and end up... 

I do think there is enough differentiation to warrant them both, but I realized I have not worn my original model since receiving the skeleton. It used to be my go-to ceramic, so hence thinking this way. Cheers Peter

But it sounds like you have a special interest in the material/history of its use. So for you, I would say yes!

That maybe one of the main reasons to keep the original model - as it represents a key milestone in AP's use of ceramics. Cheers Peter

If you like however diversity in your collection you could let one go.

The dials are both busy, dial colors both have a silver tone and the case/ bracelet is identical. So From a esthetic point of view the watches are almost identical. So are you the type of collector that likes the watch so much you’d have multiple versions... 

I've always appreciated diversity. I do have a salmon perpetual in titanium as well, but that is substantially different. Cheers Peter
