Favorite letters when hunting a discontinued timepiece?

N O S for me I have journeyed with AP since the year 2001. The worst decision I ever made was selling my Royal Oak Offshore Survivor. I have actively hunted a replacement 5+ years now. I came so close over this span on multiple occasions, but something wa...

A mistake corrected!

What a cool watch! The coolest Royal Oak Offshore I can think of!

I remember meeting you at IGOTT with my old one on the wrist

Certainly the most audacious Offshore ever, and the kind of piece this brand will never again approach.

We had so much fun back then...

Montoya, Survivor, Barrichello, F1 Singapore, Grand Prix, T3 and a few others. The good days!

So many great ones. The Pride of Russia is another one of great interest to me.

especially the white gold blue dial. Survivor is really unique in terms of how different it is from every other Offshore, but certainly, some of the color and material combinations AP created with regular Offshores are highly desirable.

Oh yeah!!!

Schumacher and the OG Carbon Alinghi too!!! Insane period and all with outstanding packaging too! Peter

Absolutely the Carbon Alinghi is a very underrated piece, at the time it was one of the first if not first Carbon cased Sports Chronograph of it's kind and to this day I don't know...

why a carbon bracelet was not developed by AP, while others who came much later to the Carbon game have done it. S

Carbon Alinghi was, and still is, misunderstood by most. How fun those days when TM teased the release...

I'll always recall the photo of the seconds counter with the partial ring on the bottom (which was an outline of a subdial).

Hahaha yes, the prototype had a full carbon engraved back

The same as the scene on the metal case back of the production version

Holy S!!! Goals..

This is definitely one of my favorite Offshore special editions ever. The watch itself is outstanding, but the box is also superb. Share more!! Peter

I'll certainly add a box photo and some others.

I relate most closely to this watch. I'll write some new comments soon. There are so many details only done for this edition. A true LE, not just a different dial color. This is the kind of AP I used to go crazy for. And really, the Starwheel is the first...

Looking so so cool

Congrats Michael, you are right it’s so different than other offshores, wonderful design. Please share more

What’s the story of this beast? Is it a collaboration piece, or what inspired AP?

Gotta love AP’s panache 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Well, it was released in 2008.

 By: MichaelC : March 7th, 2024-02:39
And AP used a very cool worldwide launch event. In fact, we all viewed a short movie on it around the world at the same time. It was epic. Inspired by a multitude of weapons, and designed by Octavio Garcia (who made the sketch you see on the wall for me d...

Wow the sketch…

That really is cool!

Well done

I recall you attended the international Survivor release?

 By: MichaelC : March 8th, 2024-22:06
Maybe at the boutique in France? This one remains polarizing, but regardless of which side of the fence you are on, AP can be credited for originality. Nothing on this watch - aside from the movement - is recycled from another Offshore. Everything was new...

I do remember it. Maybe dear Fx was with you...

 By: MichaelC : March 10th, 2024-00:27
That was a terrific launch event by AP.

Yes,I confirm.

Nice one, catch release and catch again !

This one and the original End of Days are probably my all time favourite Offshore.

My line was in the water for years ;-)

 By: MichaelC : March 8th, 2024-22:08
Glad to finally reel it back in. End of Days, for me the one that really started the Offshore craze (even though upon release it was not a hit). Montoya really took things to the next level, breaking many barriers, and paving the way for this weapon-theme...

The "metal things" are actually hinged pusher guards.

 By: MichaelC : March 12th, 2024-14:33
The snap open and allow access to operate the chronograph functions. Otherwise, their duty is to protect the pushers. It is one of the best features of this unique timepiece. There is a very tactile sensation when you operate the guards. They lock positiv...
