Collectability of this series A 5402?
I've been checking out this series A 5402 in a shop. Of course it's beautiful but I wonder if it's had too much work done on it?
Dial looks refinished, lume likely not original, hands not original either? The shop hasn't sent this to AP and makes no particular claims of which parts are original vs service parts.
I'm interested if anyone has thoughts on the collectability of a watch in this condition, or if it should just be thought of as a really old and reconditioned jumbo?

But and first look the dial look correct and the hands are typical when the watch is serviced as they are slightly thicker than those it was born with. The "8" in the date wheel also looks correct. What is more important is knowing the series A number to ...

I can't disagree!
I don't know enough about AP 5402 models to say who is the No.1 authority - I'd have to know a little more about the 5402 A/B/C to be able to make that claim. But HSTE is definitely up there!
