Sometimes you spend years searching for a Grail...

And sometimes you don't search at all.

AP is and has always been my favorite brand since discovering high end watches in 2000.  I tried this watch on once in Valencia in 2007.  It belonged to a prominent AP collector.  Experiencing it on that night made me understand the aura associated with the watch. 

I never made a real run at it.  The value always exceeded my comfort level.  But a few weeks ago, a close friend and fellow Purist emailed me about some changes he was making.  A few pieces would be outbound.  The tractor beam activated before I even asked.  I knew it would be an expensive question.

This sample arrived 100% complete and in NOS condition.  I chased my silver 25770 for years and have frequently stated the style of the dial (numerals, guilloche, and subdials) is my favorite for an Offshore chronograph.  I have enjoyed other black watches over the years, but this one will always be the standard.
