Timekeeper99, End of work day, eh? Someone somewhere on this planet is off duty Drat! The rest of us are either starting work day or still in bed! I can barely see the scratches. As others have said, it's not worth bothering until the next mechanical serv...

Well, officially it was not from AP because that person was not a watchmaker. And it was a personal opinion on his/her part. Then again, if his/her personal watches are damaged by this unauthorised behaviour, they have access to parts and experts in- hous... 

But i got advise from my dealer along the same lines as you said so you’re not far off..i just like my watches shiny brand new I think so it bugs me when i see scratches. But then I’ll probably get a scratch or ding even after i get back from polish!! ... 

Doesn't bother me. I prefer not to stress about every knock a watch receives, it's part of the experience.. ...  

I agree that signs of usage do add some character to the watch..
