1815 Kalenderwoche
Recently I came across a reference to the 1815 Kalenderwoche, a limited edition issued in 2006 for the 150th anniversary of Uhren Haber in Munich. I have to admit that I did not recall this interesting model. None of the other Lange fans I spoke to last night at a Lange dinner in Boston were familiar with this piece either, with the exception (not surprisingly!) of Joanna Lange and Chris, a very knowledgeable Lange expert from the local AD. I also spoke with CR who was not familiar with this model and does not have it listed on his Lange Price History website. CR is willing to add it to his list but really would like to have confirmation of the original pricing.
My understanding is that this model was issued as 50 pieces in red gold, 50 in yellow, and 50 in platinum. It incorporates Calibre L045.1 and as you can see in the pictures below, the watch is larger than the regular 1815, with a case diameter of 38.4 mm. Along the outside, beyond the railroad track, are the weeks of the year numbered 1 though 53. Above 6:00 one finds running seconds and the day of the week. Joanna tells me that in Europe business people often refer to the week number of the year and that this is consequently a useful complication there.
My understanding is that originally the gold versions were 20,000 euros and the platinum was 32,000. Can anyone confirm this? Comments about this intriguing and relatively rare piece?

Hi Ken, Yes, what struck me is that it was my impression that most, maybe all, of these special editions for a boutique or dealer used existing movements and involved a modified case, such as one with a different metal, blued hands, etc. This was the firs...
