When a Dato came home.....
So - Its been about 6 months I'd say without a Lange in my collection - and the first time in 5 years without a datograph variant in the stable. I missed it.
The Dato - I guess I fell victim to the dial - we fell out of lust - So, I moved into the PT Datograph Perpetual - we had a lusty affair for a while, but still, the starkness of the silver dial wore on me and I too sold the watch.
Fast forward - The new WG with Grey Dial Dato Perpetual - I think she's perfect! What warmth from a Lange watch dial - is it really possible? Style, contrast, the way the blue hands and blue moonphase just POP on this dial is, well, beautiful. Totally beautiful.
Much more legible than its PT brother, the WG variant to me, is perfection in design. Its a 911 Turbo on the wrist. It really has met my expectations and, while having it on my wrist for a whole 15 minutes, think I may have found a keeper here.
I really think this is a pretty watch - and that's not something I have said about Lange watches ever (execpt for the Langematik Perpetual which I think is purrrty also). There are styling cues from both the black dial dato and silver dial dato perp. I really just love how the blue pops on the grey dial. I think a deep navy or a grey strap might be in the cards....

It ranges - some light it can look almost taupe/beige-ish and others, deep grey with silver subdials have such nice contrast - coupled with teh blued hands. All in all, I am really happy with this datograph.
