A. Lange & Söhne

My $0.02

I owned an original Wg after many sleepless nights lusting after it. Ultimately had to part with it to handle some personal matters, but will echo some of M2's points:

- Needs to be a 'fun' piece within a well established collection. When I owned mine, it carried the most horological weight and my watch box felt imbalanced
- Go for v2 if you opt for non-date or non-chime version. If I allowed the PR to run down, correcting the time could be tedious - the v2 movement solves this.
- Hockey puck case. As a Canadian I took no offense to the reference, however it is worth saying again that it is top-heavy and unapologetic about it. When grinding out a late night at the office, I would inevitably set it up as a pseudo-clock beneath my monitors.

On the Pro side:
- Utterly unique display of time, and the audible click of the discs advancing throughout the quieter moments of the day was wonderful
- Time bridge display and face of the watch was undeniable, and was a great conversation starter among watch friends
- Winding - this is doubly pro and con. The crown can be uncomfortable to wind, but flipping the watch over while doing so presents a wild interaction with the movement that is hard to top

If I were to dip my toes back into the Zw world, I would go for a Wg striking time. The passive chime is lovely, and seeing the hammers slowly ascend throughout each 15min interval would be pleasing.

I did purchase on the secondary market, however the seller was an exceptionally kind and trustworthy gent and I felt no hesitation towards the provenance of the piece upon taking ownership.

Hope you are able to satiate the craving, it remains a unique face among so many references trying to blend in.

Edit - I too fell for the Zw while visiting the Lange manufacture in Glashutte, and first tried one on in the Dresden boutique before experiencing the rest of the collection during the tour. There must be something special in the air in that boutique!
