Which one suits your outfits better?

In my early collecting days, I bought both white metals (SS, WG & PT) and colored metals (YG & RG). Over time, I realized that I wore white metals much more, not because I didn't like the RG or YG, but mainly because they did not match my outfits so much. My clothes are generally in black, white or grey, so somehow only white metals suits me best. Nowadays, I only buy white metals because of this.

Maybe mentally try to visualize the clothes that you want to wear the WG and RG with. Then go with the one that you think will match most of your outfits. At the end of the day, you want to wear your watch as much as you can, and not be admired only from your watch box or safe.

warmer and makes the watch more elegant in my opinion. White gold is too cold for this watch.

The white gold version is rhodinated, not a true white gold like at Patek,

so it’s probably more practical to get the rose gold.

I would think it is to the contrary

Lange does not plate WG with rhodium, where Patek does

No, it’s called „or gris“ at Patek, i.e.

non-rhodinated „grey“ gold. Lange having rhodium-plated cases becomes apparent when you see a scratched Lange case.

A quick research on the internet revealed that Patek has ceased plating with rhodium ground 2007

I did not catch that info at the time. Thank you for the Info.

I tend tl say that AD is wrong

On Lange's website is no mentioning of rhodium plating. The website is quite detailed about refurbishing the cases: it is even mentioning the use of a rotating polisher out of wool.

For business: WG. For your own pleasure only:RG

I would go for RG. The warmth of RG really brings out the retro/historic look of the 1815.

It is just an aesthetic choice... so it is very difficult to help you...

I had to make the same decision with my 1815 Up / Down, so perhaps I can help. I find the rose gold that A.L&S use particularly attractive, and I think it works really well with the 1815 line. So I was pretty sure I was going to get the rose gold, but the...

Clearly contentious and lots of valuable comments. I mainly wear dark colour suits (blues and greys) so I can see WG matching my outfits but I am sure I will enjoy this no matter what colour I get !rp
