Lange 1815 Anniversary: Platinum, Honey Gold, with or without moon phase?
By: amanico : January 8th, 2017-04:01
How do you like it? From left to right: 1815 200th Anniversary F.A Lange, 40 mm Platinum, released in 2015, LE of 200 pieces. 1815 Moon phase FA Lange, Honey Gold, 37, 4 mm case, released in 2010, LE of 265 pieces. 1815 Moon Phase Emil Lange, Platinum, 35...
In-house springs at Lange
By: Esharp : January 8th, 2017-05:18
Pray tell - I know it\'s a bit off-topic, apologies - which Lange watches currently in production have in-house balance springs and which do not? I\'ve noticed that some Lange watches are free-sprung and have an eccentric-weight balance wheel - the new L1...
Forgot to choose!
By: Esharp : January 8th, 2017-05:22
Among these three beauties? All of them, of course! But in order of preference: 1) the Emil Lange moonphase. That poetic black dial... 2) the plain 1815 3) that leaves the FA Lange moonphase. Also something else, and I love the engine-turned dial. But not...
that is a great document but with some minor flaws
By: COUNT DE MONET : January 12th, 2017-04:24
One incorrect detail is for instance that the F A Honey Moon Phase has got a silver dial. In real it is also a Honey Gold dial ( and if I want to add a really thick Honey Gold dial that adds a lot to the nice, heavy weight of the watch).
Thanks for the correction....
By: CR : January 13th, 2017-19:27
"Silver" was listed because it's the dial's color, not its material, but that's confusing so I changed it to "solid gold, argenté, guillloched" to make it more clear. I made this same change for the honey gold Lange 1 tourbillon dial. I had it correctly d...
The first in-house balance spring
By: Speedie74 aka Mr. Torquise : January 8th, 2017-06:22
was produced for the Richard Lange serial. It took 3 years only to teach 3 watchmaker how to rig the spring in a proper way. All the models of the Richard Lange watches was equipped by in-house balance spring! The new Lange 1 has also in-house spring, and...
No contest at all:

Emil Lange is a clear winner! Size, material, dial, function, everything speaks for her. Second position is for the Honey Gold moonphase for me. Altgough the dial, especially the moonphase and the inner guilloched circle is a little bit too much for me, b...
Totally agree Nico!

The Emil Lange is arguably the most iconic Lange since 1994. Great size, great movement, near perfect dial and very rare. I guess their value on the used market is a testament to the desirability of this watch. I have owned the honey gold version for a fe...

If I may say so in the Lange forum :-)
By: sham1 : January 8th, 2017-04:50
You should try the 32mm Patek Phiippe 3820R with the rare ultra slim 177 movement. Breguet hands, Breguet numerals, pure class.

Emil Lange for me
By: dedestexhes : January 8th, 2017-04:50
As you state, perfect proportions, romantic dial. What more do you need. Not so keen on the other 2, nothing wrong with them but the honey gold is too busy for me, the other one a bit too plain. Only problem of the Emil Lange is the current pricing for th...
You know my answer already...

.. Emil Lange 36mm Platinum Moonphase LE, of course! Not much to talk about "which one", but simply the "good old days" for old guys like us.....heh? Thanks for reminding us all the important history of the new Lange (meaning, after the "wall" has gone), ...
Emil Lange by far for me.
By: Mark in Paris : January 8th, 2017-06:15
Aside from the proportions (maybe a little small, even if it doesn't look 36mm) maybe, it is a perfect, charming and poetic watch. Not shouting or lacking of refinement. Very unique so you really don't feel you have one among amny others out there... I li...
The Emil Lange is the most poetic one.
By: Arie - Mr Orange : January 8th, 2017-07:04
Although I find it too small it would be my nr 1 closely followed by the moon phase (also too small for me).
No quesuon, Emil Lange
By: mj23 : January 8th, 2017-07:45
The constellation just makes the watch so poetic that 35mm is acceptable!!!
Ooops!
By: sham1 : January 8th, 2017-23:56
sooooory!
I like Lange watches for their austere looks. But
By: ianny : January 8th, 2017-09:06
ironically the one watch that I feel is a definite keeper is the least austere looking Lange in my collection. I love the guilloche work and the engraving on the movement is exquisite. A trivial note: the balance cock of the 1815 MP FA Lange HG is made of...
EL for me.
By: zabreg1 Mr White : January 8th, 2017-11:03
Followed by the 200th LE in platinum.
Oh, I like them all...
By: patrick_y : January 8th, 2017-16:07
But a moonphase for special evening occasions is de riguer!
Platinum for me....
By: watercolors : January 10th, 2017-13:11
then honey gold, I prefer the 40 mm over 37.4 mm. Best regards Edward
