Just noticed that no one has responded to this so here goes.
I have a number of Lange watches - but previously did not have a Lange 1. The Lange 1 is an icon - in that true meaning of the word - in the watch world so I wanted to fill the gap in my collection. The Moonphase hits the sweet spot for me. The dial is not too busy and retains the simplicity of the time only by dual - or triple - purposing the small seconds dial for the Moonphase and day/night. I’m currently going through a “less is more” approach to dial design so this was a factor. I preferred the sizing of the Grand Lange 1 Moonphase - think it works better as a dress down size at almost 42mm. However, the lack of day night and placement of the Moonphase didn’t work as well for me.
I love the black dial Langes - I have 4 different ones - so the color was a no-brainer. The hour dial on the perpetual is better placed - RHS, but the dial is also busier. That’s it!
I’ve been meaning to pull this one out of the safe for a long time.
