First time Lange owner.

Jan 31, 2021,08:37 AM

This weekend had been good and bad. The bad is the Moderna second vaccine really hit me hard. Laid me up for a good 48 hours.
The good is I tops delivery of my new to me Lange Saxonia Annual Calendar. I have never owned a Lange until this weekend. I have been a lurker here on the Lange sub forum admiring the beautiful time pieces. What pushed me over the edge was the Lange movements. I have never seen a more beautifully finished movement. I love the 3/4 rotor with the platinum edge. The blued screws are also amazing. I am so happy I took the plunge into Lange. Now as soon as the world opens I would love to go to the Lange workshop in Germany for a tour. Here are a few pics. Because as we all know “ no pics, it never happened”.
I hope you all have a good Sunday.
CB

My favorite Lange...

The simplicity and logical layout of the dial is unequaled imho. Enjoy...

Thank you.

I guess I should really say that 2 good things happened to me this weekend. Getting the vaccine and getting the Lange. I have one question. Why is it that the deployment clasp is on the opposite side of the watch compared to Patek and IWC? The deployment ...

My experience with deployments is that you should test both directions: it really only depends on your wrist size and the respective lengths of each leather piece

Enjoy your timepiece, it is one of the very best Lange references: logical and pure with a useful complication. Cherry on the cake: you only need to adjust it once per year... and this date falls on my birthday!

Thank you. I really like this watch. It’s amazing.

Very cool about your birthday.

Interesting question about the deployant orientation...

 By: CR : January 31st, 2021-09:29
I wasn't aware that other brands had different default orientations for their deployant clasps, and I too am now curious if there's a reason for the difference. I thought that since the typical tang/pin buckle is at 12 o'clock, that's where the deployant ...

Thank you very much CR.

I’m very happy with this watch. It’s beautiful. I have been an owner of many Patek watches but I think Lange is winning me over. Although Patek is supposed to be a top brand ,which it is ,I think Lange is right up there with them if not above them when yo...

Regarding the vaccines. I got the first Moderna vaccine a month ago and it made me tired and a little bit of muscle ache but not bad.

By: Costa (aka Connie) : January 31st, 2021-10:06
The second Moderna I got on Friday really knocked me down for 36-48 hours. I can’t imagine feeling like that for eight days if you get the coronavirus. We all have to remain safe until there’s herd immunity in every country. That will take time but it is ...

Also, I would sort of kind of kill for this watch...

...in yellow gold or honey gold.

I believe it is proprietary or patented and exclusive to Lange...

 By: mdg : January 31st, 2021-10:09
...it is a lighter color than yellow gold and harder than both rose gold and yellow gold. Currently they only offer it on their special edition watches, I believe. www.alange-soehne.com

You’re going to come out of this strong with win-win....

I've been a „guest“ in the ALS forum for quite a long time now and my wish to acquire my first ALS is growing. I like this very clean, tidy design of the dial very much. And the annual calendar is one of the most practical functions of all. You are defini...

Thanks Thomas. Glad to be done with the vaccine.

I am 56. Usually very healthy. I can’t imagine feeling like that for 8-10 days. The watch is spectacular. I am very glad to have the Lange. It’s a very nice watch. The Movement is amazing. Best CB

This watch stuff is a terribly good affliction!

Thanks Doc. Love the Lange brand now that I have had a chance to wear one, albeit for only a few days.
