on whether 72 hours PR and quick-set corrector matters to you or not.

Another thing to consider is the aesthetics of the movement layouts, which are significantly different between gen 1 and gen 2 (discussed here: https://www.watchprosite.com/a.-lange-and-s%C3%B6hne/zeitwerk-movement-gen-1-vs-gen-2-aesthetics/10.1453261.13597396/1639865443/)

Gen 2 will also have slightly thinner bezel and lugs (just marginal difference), even though case dia/height remains the same (41.9/12.6 mm)

For me, I always wanted to have gen 1 (140.029), so that's what I ordered recently.

Good luck! 😉

I wonder if the outgoing will be more 'collectible'?

Zeitwerk Date?

And why not choose the Zeitwerk Date? It is already on the new “platform” with 72 hours of PR and quick set for both hours and date. Really no need to wait IMHO (unless someone gets an allocation for the Honeygold Lume but that’s another story).
