Because here you would have got a trouble with a strap I suppose.
Maybe the strap position is too close to the case and so if you put stones, it would not easily move... I don't know. Fx

I like how Lange has managed to get all those diamonds in and still limit the bling factor on this watch. The movement side looks brilliant though. Does it come with shades? ;-) Richard

Kaiser Wilhelm II liked Lange! You can see it in Topkapi museum Istanbul.
I am sure you will know this but just in case: He gave a Turkish Sultan a pocket watch as a present with Wilhelm's picture on it. It was when the Baghdad Bahn was planed and decided later in beginning of the 20th century. Best Moritz
