One week after the Salon "Les Montres" in Paris, I crossed the Channel to enjoy another exhibition by Lange at the Salon QP in London. I couldn't miss this opportunity because it was the last chance to see such gathering of Lange watches before the end of...  

Frustration with the Zeitwerk striking... Wait, just one strike? Hmmm, I had better hopes, here. Don't like the massive rotor, I have the feeling that Lange wants to rationalize the costs on their movement. Didn't like the RL T PLM. I found the RL PLM muc... 

I find the new central rotor movement to be boring and, with its gold plated rotor, a little too compromised for a Lange. Without chatons a full bridge movement is also rather boring. The Saxonia range struck me as accountant driven, except the Thin, whic... 

Never stop loving my 1815 Chrono or Richard Lange...

We would certainly not write something about this brand. Lange is a superb brand, with great watches, but I think they need a 2d breath... Inspiration? Best, Nicolas.

I was disappointed by the Zeitwerk Striking Time, I expect much more from Lange on this field. But maybe it is our fault? We put so much pressure on them to release a striking watch that I had the feeling that they chose a compromise solution which is nev...

What Lange has achieved in a decade is truly amazing. If we put pressure on them to impress us every year, then they will not be able to follow up with consistent quality. Remember the size and output of that relatively new and small company... Let's be p... 

But what worries me a bit is that I clearly see 2 periods: Before 2004, and after 2004. Before 2004, there were, regularly, not every year, some exctiing watches. After 2004, what did we have? The RL, RL PLM, then, the Zeitwerk... Then? Best, Nicolas.

The models that you have mentioned are amazing. The PLM is one of the finest development in horology. The Zeitwerk is the most innovative way of displaying time since time was invented, and the innovations inside that are needed to make the whole thing wo... 

The big rotor, which is taking the place of the 3 Quarter Rotor? Is that a change which pleases you? I'm curious... Best, Nicolas.

...But it is perhaps less efficient (let's'be frank: the laws of physics are here). The balance between aesthetics and utility is very delicate. Lange so far, with limited power reserves for example, has privileged accuracy and reliability and looks. Now ... 

Anyway, the life of a brand is the responsibility of us all, including the customers and collectors. If they listen to us and find that we ask for more innovations and novelties, they may try so hard that they would inevitably have to sacrifice other area...
