ALS Langematik Anniversery: A chip of the same block?

I recently found this Longines 15.26 from 1910(?), which looks like the grandfather to our most beloved ALS Langematik Anniversery. Does one of you know whether this similarity was intentionally or by chance? Looking forward to feedback.

Nice siblings. I would guess that the pocket watches from
over a century ago inspired the style of these wristwatches.
Uncanny resemblance.
I think this was a pretty common design, but this is a near-perfect match, with the placement of the cut-off VII. Nice find!
