Qc problems at Lange?
Hi guys,
Wanted to share my recent experience with lange's qc issues.
It started with my btq RL (which actually had a blemished dial and had to be cleaned). Recently my RL's power resv could only last for 24hrs.
So my 1.5yrs old RL was sent back to factory back in Jan.
As some of you know, I love the 1815 line and thought that the 1815 chrono would make a great addition to my Lange collection (and I don't have a chrono yet).
I started to look for a rose gold piece (I like the warmer look) and I saw 3 pieces at different ADs just last month.
This is where it gets disturbing :
- 1st : the crown sticks out quite a bit from the bezel (crown was in)
- 2nd : activated the chrono and the minute counter jumped backwards
- 3rd : scratched antireflective coating (or maybe even the actual crystal, I couldn't be sure)
Could be my bad luck with the 1815 chrono, mishandling by the AD or Lange has some serious qc lapses.
I love lange's design and aesthetics but I really hope their push for profit growth don't come at the expense of quality (and it really shouldn't since they can hire me for qc and I am cheap!)

I brought a perfectly working watch in for a 5year service, as we all we should do.. but it came back twice with issues, and now it is on the 3rd trip back to Lange. All with different issues! Talk about QC. Excuses, human error, oversight, unforeseen etc...
