Question about changing dial on a Daytona....

Aug 12, 2013,20:30 PM

Good morning. I have a Rolex Daytona 16519 (white gold) circa 1994, the dial is white with Arabic numbers at 1,2,4,5,7,8,10 and 11 while the sub dials surroundings are white gold colour. I really like the dial of the Daytona 16520 (steel) with "small batons" index and the black surrounds on the sub dials. Does anyone know if the change is possible from Rolex?

I ask here as I did call the official Rolex agent in Melbourne Australia and was told that due to the different metals of the cases, one been steel this other white gold it is not possible to replace one dial with the other due to the cases not been the same size??!!!!! I thought Rolex were machining both the gold and the steel cases from solid blocks?

Thank you for your comments.

Cheers

Francois

... is different, but only on the lugs. size and movement are the same, so you can fit any other 165xx dial on it. it's funny that so many people choose the arabic dial for the ref. 16520 SS...precisely the opposite. ciao

Thank you Chris, that's what I thought but....
