It is a matte grey from VC and they do have a very light gloss to them.

At least compared to Aaron’s „super matte“ leathers, which I love. Here’s a black super matte.

I think the color on the matte one is a better match for the watch as well. Plus I generally prefer matte gators to glossy ones. On another note, stellar Cornes de Vache, this is the best version of them all. And Aaron‘s straps are a top choice.
