Maybe chill out a little?

I respect that you have an opinion and you have the freedom to express yourself on PPro but man, a bit impolite. Most people are just trying to share ideas and get more knowledge from the forum. I'm trying to learn more about RM because the brand really piques my interest. I can't speak for Eric but maybe he's looking for an exchange of ideas.
How many RM watches do you really own right now? It appears you've had a few in possession from what you've posted in the past. If that's true then you're someone who enjoys rarefied air. I would think when you've had a collection in the $$$ 6 or 7 figures, you've reached an enlightened state where you are not so thin skinned about what other people say. I've met a few PuristS who have great expensive watch collections and those guys have been humble and/or gracious. These are truly cool guys who exude the mantra "the lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep" but they don't ever have to say it.

UNLIMITED number of 'limited editions'

 By: eric.vonschonberg : October 14th, 2017-14:46
Following up on another thread ... Does anyone know how many limited editions RM has released since the company started? There are simply so many limited editions that it's fair to say that the number of limited editions is quite frankly UNLIMITED! I simp...

If we look at RM total production which is around 3500 per year then in a sense all his watches are limited editions Another aspect is that most of the tourbillon watches of RM are produced in limited runs ranging from 15 to 75 pieces The limited editions...

I don't know the figure but I think that limited editions for RM are more about bringing diversity.

I don't think it should be taken as the way other brands or even other sectors do it. It is not a "special" edition in the way it should cost more because it brings "more". It would be indeed a problem if they say it is limited thus more expensive. They j...

Scarcity marketing, does it work?

I think you have a worthwhile post and I am glad to see a few members like Riddler & Mark have added more thoughful responses. RM is producing now 4k watches this year. And it does not appear the growth is weak so expect even more. I don’t have the answer...

Well said.

LE strategy works and until it doesn’t work, you will keep on seeing them.

Most of this can be explained by the customers of RMs

Having a variety of colors and other choices is fine by me too. But, I just wish that they would simply do just that by allowing the customer to select exactly what options they want. They wouldn't have to call it a limited edition to do that. I don't thi...

Confirming what I was just mentioning ...

I just Googled "rapper richard mille" and the first hit was an article: www.thejewelleryeditor.com which mentions: "No retailer in his right mind will ever reveal the identity of his Richard Mille customers, but we do know for a fact that Richard ...

Oh look...

I tired that Google thing, and looks like rappers love AP, Patek, Rolex, Hublot, etc, etc. www.fashionbeans.com What is your point again?

Yes, what you point out is true, but it misses my point ...

 By: eric.vonschonberg : October 19th, 2017-08:30
Yes, rappers don't just buy RM; they buy all the brands that make flashy watches, as the article mentions. My point isn't that rappers buy RM more than other watch brands. My point is that considering *only customers of RMs", those customers tend to be ra...
