Yes, it is doable HOWEVER you have to know which screwdriver to order in order for it to fit the screws/holes in your watch.
The problem with the vast majority of cheaper version screwdrivers being sold is that they DO NOT FIT the OEM screws and are actually made for the lots of replicas out there.
There are 2 versions of widths out there and depending on your watch model, you would have to pick the correct size.
i purchased this screwdriver (NOT CHEAP) for my RM010 (works perfectly):

The other alternative is always to go to a RM boutique and have them swap the strap out for you.

Hope I'm not breaking any protocols but does anyone have any recommendations for RM 'screwdrivers' ... nothing advanced but I would like to change the strap over on my RM028 and it'd be great to be able to do this (carefully) myself. Appreciate any insigh...
