Jaeger Lecoultre Tribute To Deep Sea Alarm US Edition Red. Would it be a cool project for a Community Watch?

By: amanico : August 19th, 2020-00:17
There are a lot of IF here, for the project to see the light... - IF that idea doesn't violate any copyright. Indeed, Jaeger Lecoultre issued three TT Deep Sea Alarm Europe RED in 2013. One had been auctioned by Sotheby's, the two others are the property ...

Love it!

By: destrodan : August 19th, 2020-00:30
I'd definitely be interested! My vote is for the lume. It's good to see the time throughout the night if the alarm is being used to wake up in the morning. Kind regards, Dan

Question : Why Red ?

By: PoyFR : August 19th, 2020-00:42
I understand the tribute, but why Red? May be following the colors codes / tendencies could be more successful ?

Like I said... rarely!

By: PoyFR : August 19th, 2020-01:53
Trend setters sometimes, often, take the existing trends ad with a touch of je ne sais quoi turn it into A Trend!

Love the idea!

By: jpd : August 19th, 2020-00:49
Hi Nico, great idea 👍 I find that “alarm” and “red” go hand in hand. I would be in for a lume version! Best, Jan

Dear Nicolas, Thanks for the initiative.

By: joenghenry : August 19th, 2020-01:01
I find it very attractive, and prefer the lume version, due to more balance with the lume on bezel and on hands. Hopefully this beauty can come true and I can have one. Best, Henry

Oh My Lord!

By: Pun : August 19th, 2020-06:49
What a poll!! Never thought such a brut majority support for your idea.... But that can't be limited to 50-100 pieces only. We have more buyers here than those numbers. JLC must listen to the vote here.

The red centre dial looks good!

By: Seeks : August 19th, 2020-01:03
Lume version would be very cool. Count me in - Many thanks! Excellent idea, Nicolas.

I'd certainly buy one!

By: T3F : August 19th, 2020-01:17
I agree with most other repliers -- the lume version is the winner. However, I could do without the extra text -- just "LeCoultre" would look fantastic and really clean, in my personal opinion -- though it certainly isn't a dealbreaker for me either way. ...

How about a entire lumed central dial

By: Cookies : August 19th, 2020-01:40
Like those old school dive watches. And in the lume, perhaps a tiny negative space with “L.E Purists” Cool idea with the DSA.

Hi Nico

By: @lberti : August 19th, 2020-02:37
Thats an amazingly looking photoshop. I would love to go with the lume version and the white text on the dial.

Very nice idea. You are a danger to my finances.

By: lavrentivs : August 19th, 2020-03:35
I like the with lume version too. Not that I would have the chance to buy one, but if this gets approved, I'm sure it would make for some very happy forum members.

Intesting project.. Let me be a bit provocative.. Even if that would be totally against the flow.. For humble me..

By: hs111 : August 19th, 2020-03:40
.. in all honesty, I don‘t really see the nessecity for such an undertaking ,. IMHO, we should not fumble with an otherwise already great dial.. Havng said so, as a Lucky man, I started with both DSA models, EU US, but if you want a „What if“ opinion, I a...

Lume, yes. Writing on the dial, not so sure Nico.

By: Jay (Eire) : August 19th, 2020-03:50
It’s not a deal killer but I think the watch has always looked better without. I think the Le Coultre I can deal with, but the rest I don’t like it’s position and it adds some clutter. What is the significance of the red (colour)? It’s been a long time si...

Love this project, it checks all the boxes.

By: ZSHSZ : August 19th, 2020-04:09
Lume version for sure, but I’d prefer the triangular hour marker, it’s more balanced with the hands shape and thickness. Also better readability. Go for it!

A spectacular watch!

By: COUNT DE MONET : August 19th, 2020-04:10
The more colours are in it the better it will lokk: with lume! Please make it happen! Please ...

Great question !

By: sebks : August 19th, 2020-05:04
Timed release with unlimited quantity available for only 1 or 2 minutes would be great ! Everybody really interested could get one without flooding the market

On the fence..

By: Echi : August 19th, 2020-05:13
1) I prefer lume but don't like "fauxtina" as I like the look of the no lume to be honest 2) the red disc and the black bezel might be too contrasty for me.. wondering if ghost bezels are a possibility 3) the red disc might be distracting over the long te...

Ghost bezel like this one?

By: amanico : August 19th, 2020-06:33
Food for thought, my friend. It is just a first " esquisse " and I have to see with JLC if they are ok for that. Will keep you posted, and we'll see IF they are ok, what is our margin of action. Best, Nicolas ...

Super idea

By: Gus7 : August 19th, 2020-06:26
And I echo the lume version. Also intrigued by option of doing something with the strap. I’d be in!

Lume Yes, All that Script No

By: cazalea : August 19th, 2020-09:21
LeCoultre fine but the other stuff is too large and too distracting. Cazalea

That’s a strong argument for inclusion. Possibly the strongest argument.

By: Jay (Eire) : August 19th, 2020-10:52
I guess it also helps to differentiate between the Project Red charity piece. Still doesn’t make it prettiest though !!!

With lume foir me, please.

By: stromer : August 19th, 2020-10:23
This watch was so cool in 2013 and it still is in 2020 Thank you for the project!

Love it!

By: th.gr.ga : August 19th, 2020-11:26
And would also go with the lume version - it blends really nicely with the red. Sign me up!

Love the red

By: keks : August 19th, 2020-11:35
Lume version preference but with very thin margin.... ideally fitted on a strap that can handle water... perhaps with some red details even! Most exciting project if it happens! Ideally less text at the bottom as well on dial... perhaps word automatic can...

OMG, just saw this...and as discussed prior about this potential "Purist" model, I am ALL in for the lume version...

By: holdemchamp1225 : August 19th, 2020-15:21
heck, I would be in for the non lume version as well so put me down for BOTH 🤣😂 No really, you don't even need to ask me frérot. I am so in and would even ask if we could engrave or names or initials on the back to commemorate the occasion 😁

Striking

By: d-star : August 19th, 2020-19:03
The red dial really pops. My vote would be with the lume version as it brings the other parts of the dial and bezel together. Looking forward to hearing more about this project!

This looks amazing! Thanks for putting this together, I love the red!

By: Fastwong : August 19th, 2020-20:19
I was just looking at the Red Wine Reverso for my wife, maybe I can make the case this would be like a matched set I vote for the lumed version! One suggestion I have might be to shorten the minute & seconds hands or expand the dial a bit to keep both han...

Loving the red, WITH lume, please.

By: Ano Nuevo : August 20th, 2020-00:01
Good luck with JLC, my friend. This would be very nice. I hope that the same font can again be used for the “LeCoultre” text. A.N.

Count me in!

By: fourtaelsgold : August 20th, 2020-08:23
And with lume please. Why? Because it’s meant to be a dive watch. The more lume the better.

That is true.

By: descartes1 : August 21st, 2020-08:50
I have to say your design, including the patina, in growing on me. I’ve read about the RED event and I can see why you are going in this direction with the US version of the deep sea. I think I’d like to be on the list!

Saw the original in the metal. Would love it with lume

By: cfn : August 20th, 2020-22:04
Wow, Nico. I have been thinking of this watch ever since I saw the original back in 2013. If this could become reality, I would be very happy. Lume it is!! ...

Count me in the "With Lume" camp

By: MZHammer : August 21st, 2020-20:33
This would be an amazing edition. I've been looking for a US edition myself but if this is in the works I might wait and see. Love it! Would a brown dial be in the cards? A simulated tropical look perhaps?

Tropical dial

By: bchankai : August 24th, 2020-16:15
A tropical dial would be amazing. I would actually be a fan of other colors too since red’s been released already. Having said that, it all sounds fantastic to me. Thanks for floating this idea. I’m a pro-lume. Thanks, Brian

Love it

By: dmv4star : August 22nd, 2020-06:29
The red dial is awsome, one of my favorite editions. This would look great next to my AMVOX2 Agree on Lume

Wow, I don't post for a few days and this thread went BONKERS 🤣😂🤣😂

By: holdemchamp1225 : August 24th, 2020-08:05
Now how do we pressure JLC into making this reference for WPS members frérot? Whatever you need, I volunteer my services to get it done 😉😁 And just want to say that the poll is silly at this point with the lume version dominating like never before 😳 ...

Are we there yet?

By: Ano Nuevo : September 5th, 2020-21:47
Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Ano “Yes, I’m 5 years old.” Nuevo

Ok. I’ll wait at least one day before asking again! 🤡😇

By: Ano Nuevo : September 6th, 2020-10:01
Bonne chance, mon ami. I hope that JLC will be receptive, cooperative and understanding, regarding your wonderful idea. Ano “Impatience is my middle name” Nuevo

And the latest word on the NPJLCDSAUSER is...???

By: Ano Nuevo : September 26th, 2020-10:16
Is it a “Go” or “No-go” on the Nico Project JLC Deep Sea Alarm US Edition Red? Let’s just call it the “NPJLCDSAUSER” for short! Ano “More acronyms, please” Nuevo

Eh bien, if the NPJLCDSAUSER doesn’t happen...

By: Ano Nuevo : September 28th, 2020-22:28
I suppose I could use the NPJLCDSAUSER funds to get two of the colorful new Rolex OP 36mms. They wouldn’t have the cachet of a Purist JLC, but I’d have two watches instead of one! Coral! Green! Ano “Looking on the bright side” Nuevo

Lume!

By: roundel : November 23rd, 2020-17:13
Looks great. I do like the “Euro” version a bit more though.

Please hurry Nico...

By: Rex2 : November 26th, 2020-09:17
Before I spend my 2021 watch allowance. I’m lusting after chal0072’s Cartier Tank.🙂

I would say with lume, because the overall dial is look is more consistent -- white non-lumed hour markers make the appearance too scattered/less cohesive. However, I think the red inner disk is too bright...

By: remarque : December 20th, 2020-09:09
a darker shade of red (maroon) should be considered, unless the inner disk color is completely revisited. Regardless, I love the idea and would want to be included, especially if we can get JLC to update the movement to 70 hour power reserve!! Since the o...
