That is an odd caseback engraving

Engraved much more deeply than one normally sees, especially the serial number which is normally much lighter than the other text. I would say that perhaps it was re-engraved after the original was obliterated during an aggressive case polish (grain is normally linear, not circumferential), but that number is well out of range for known models as well. Is there a story behind this one?
