Most of the times I prefer watches without date ... but if they have one
imo the best is between 4 and 5 ( or between other numbers) I hate it when the date eats up indices when they put it at 3 o'clock

I miss mine
I had a colored dial on the black shark strap with red stitching and deployant. It’s amazing how long ago that was. I remember the crystal AR coating had an unusual red tint and was very easy to mar.
