Dear Zenith addicts, As I announced last week, here is the first edition of the Digging deeper on a Zenith. The watch that I choose to open this series is a very unusual late 60's, early 70s (I presume) "Carree-Cambree" case, A 3736, manual winding, ca...  

Still, the S 58 remains my favourite, with a certain... Cal 135. ;) Best, Nicolas

Thanks for a great #1 Nilo, And agree with Nico, this is a funky piece from a period when Zenith made a number of funky pieces. Love the watch, but not too keen on the bracelet. Would prefer a full metal bracelet without the "missing links" showing bits o... 

It was the true "funky" times. Even the legendary A384, if one pays attention, is very funky. Cheers, Nilo

Inside out. Timeless & relevant even today. Find the bracelet very amusing, not very often do u see one with "gaps" in between. Is the bracelet the original design, and probably for ergonomic/comfort reason ?

I believe that it was a common Zenith's design at that time. I already took pics of other models with a similar bracelet. Cheers, Nilo

As you know, Gay Freres produced marque specific designs. The so-called "ladder bracelet" was one of two Zenith designs. The other was this more conventional one. some more examples of the "ladder" on the wrist ...

Nilo, Thanks for the review. This is from the TBMCW (time before MTF collected watches). Actually not true: at that time, I had one watch...a Timex that leaked. But it had orange seconds hand too. I have a feeling that many watches of that era had orange ... 

Zenith needs to follow the trend and open a boutique here. I'm dying to review a modern one. Cheers Nilo
