Great post!! I really wish Zenith

Mar 28, 2012,15:46 PM

would use the font on the Pilot Aeronef Type 20 on another timepiece. I love that font, and would buy a Zenith watch today if they came out with one that was a reasonable size (say 44mm). I was all ready to place an order for the Areonef until I read the size.

Baselworld 2012: Zenith

 By: foversta : March 28th, 2012-14:27
IWC and Zenith have a common point this year: 2012 will be under the Pilot's sign! But they don't choose the same approach. Zenith is very faithful to the strategy implemented by Jean-Frédéric Dufour based on the historical roots and complications taking ...

You can find a similar font (but not the same obviously) with the Longines Istituto: Thanks for your comments! Fx...

I like the news releases a lot!

IMO, Zenith is making incomparably better-looking, classier, much more desirable watches than in the last decade. And thanks for the great report and pictures! Marcelo This message has been edited by marcelo on 2012-03-28 17:11:28

Thanks Marcelo for your comments! [nt]

Some great things coming from Zenith these days

 By: aaronm : March 28th, 2012-19:16
I quite like the new Espada line. Even the ladies watches, though I could do without the diamonds, are nice. They remind me a bit of Roger Dubuis, I think it must be the extended romans A

You comments are right Aaron...

Seems that Zenith is really serving up

what collectors are after, with plenty of history to boot. Thans for the report!

Yes Ed.

They are consistent with their strategy! Best regards. Fx

I really like the ladies' cushion moonphase watch

Looks so elegant and clean! Thanks for the report. I too agree with you in that I'm not a big fan of the Zenith open dial watches. I hope it's part of the collection that will slowly fade away because I consider it a distraction to their more classically ...

You are right in a sense...

 By: foversta : March 29th, 2012-13:45
But the Open are a strong part of Zenith collection and they are not ready to remove them... I do believe that the sales figures are pretty good ! Fx

very nice watches, imo the best I saw at Basel AND SIHH this year

I loved several watches from Zenith this year. And that Aéronef is still on top of my wishlist. This watch is important, and not only for Zenith enthusiasts. I think EVERY watch enthusiast must love that movement, and knowing it is 50 years ols is superb....

Thanks Bruno for your comments.

 By: foversta : March 29th, 2012-13:46
But if you are interested in the Aeronef, I highly suggest to take a fast decision... Fx

It is the reason why I told you to urge... Because there is always a B plan. ;-) Fx

Zenith also . . .

. . . forms the basis for an exceptionally moving avatar! Your affection for the brand is vividly apparent, Bruno. The Type 20 is staggering, in the best sense of the word. Cordially, Art

Joy and pain ...

... I feel when looking at this year's collection of novelties. To start with a brief feeling of pain: It is now four years that President Chavez changed the time zone of his country by half an hour. Apparently, the newspapers read in Le Locle are taken f...

I knew this one would come up. Patek stands above narrow-minded politics ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : March 29th, 2012-14:36
The Sterns are aware that they are in office longer than president Chavez and would choose to simply ignore small turbulences in the great concert of time zones. No, I had criticzed Patek for this already several times here in the forum. But PP could rely...

Great report

 By: Rickr25 : March 29th, 2012-21:30
In videos the Aeronef sure appears to be impressive, not just in size, but even elegant/beautiful. I wish they'd made it a deskclock or given you the option of wearing it on the wrist or placing it on your desk. I also like the Pilot Big Date a lot. I wou...

About the movement of the Captain Tourbillon, for me, it is a clear situation: it is an EP base due to the frequency of the movement. They basically removed the chronograph function of the "usual" Tourbillon Chronograph movement. They didn't put EP on the...

Thank you for a fantastic report, i really enjoyed reading it and admiring the photos. Have you any idea if the ladies moonphase will be available in st. steel? I can't find anything on the official site for that particular watch and am very interested to...

That silver-dialed (or is it white?) Espada on a bracelet really does it for me. Of course I'd have to see it in person and try it on but so far so good. I'm not a big fan of chronographs - I don't have any use for the complication - but I know Zenith is ...
