First judging comes from Ed Tonkin, huge thank you for taking the time, much appreciated.
Good morning Tim. In the interest of time and due to some obligations later I have to provide my judging now. I hope it’s acceptable to you.
Here goes:
“Friends, Romans, Countrymen . . . lend me your watches!”
What a difficult task to judge this week’s “Watch of the Week.” There are far too many beautiful watches and it’s a shame to pick one winner amongst so many. But . . . this being the task at hand I have selected a few winners.
I think it only fair to award a first place to each category; one for Roman numerals and one for Arabic numerals as there are lovely examples in each category. My decision, mind you, is purely subjective as there’s no objective definitive criteria. You may feel free to “shoot the messenger” then!
In the Arabic numeral category I must go with S F’s Vacheron Constantin 1942 simply because I love the vintage design of the numerals. They are borderline whimsical but purely vintage and I love the fact that the watch comes in two color ways; either blue or red.
It was a toss up between this and Izhik‘s Urban Jurgensen as I am a sucker for Breguet numerals as well.
Congratulations to all the owners of their beautiful watch submissions!
And now for the Roman Numerals!
The Watch of the Week goes to SBS-Purist for the Romain Roman HM2! How can one not go with a “Romain Roman?!!!” It’s a beautiful watch too boot! All of the Gauthier’s are.
A special shout out to all those who cleverly submitted the “Cali” dials and creatively “straddled” the objective!
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful timepieces. In my book, you are all winners!
Ed Tonkin”
matto1 & Captain Scarlet please add your judgements to the thread.
Thank you,
Tim
[S F's VC, first place Arabics category]
