Blomman, I consider this as a double offense. Memovox and Chocolate. Gorgeous watch and dial and it follows, of was followed, by the dial design of the E871 (JLC logo balancing with the date on the other side). For us, all the newbies. What is this model?...
Not yet – still miss many Memos…! This lady is a decolourised E 875 aka “Speedbeat” from the Cal 916 28800bph. Earlier Memos with the Cal 825 has a bph of 18000. From the beginning this one was blue like the one to the left in pic. Thank you, Nilo! HAGWE ...
...I have started the hunt for ck2914+15... Mine is a 2913-3 and actually the numbers on the bezel is going the other way around on the -1 and -2 ...so I might have to have another one come to me my precious Let the hunt begin Best and Hagwe Hans
Hi All, I don't usually post static watch photos, but I found the effect here quite interesting. Some of the early F.P.Journe dials had a more granular appearance which picks up the light. The YG dial of the Octa RdM is at its most interesting in bright s...
... and I was wearing both watches. The YG dial of the Octa has a crystalline, granular surface that catches the light in all different ways. In low light it's just a matt yellow. It's one of the charming things about the watch. Thanks Blomman. Andrew
When out walking, beware the dreaded blue snake.... He likes to hide in trees, silently stalking his prey ... He will even lie in wait in the grass, waiting for his chance ... He's hungry for you ... HAGWE. Regards, Richard....
...and running two Fridays! This week for 'aptronym', who knows Y. Special thanks again to the Purist who made it possible - you know who you are! Cheers, pplater....
Thanks Andrew. Not bad for a watch first sold in 2002, hey? Between us we have a few very good reasons, now, to share a glass or six. BDLJ has promised to bring his stomach pump... Cheers, pplater.
..."quality in quantity"??? (Don't you pay any attention to him, BDLJ; make these guys moderators and before you know it they all get 'holier than thou' !) Cheers, pplater.
Do you collec them? I spent some time over the NY at my grandmother's, taking photos of dozens of old cameras that my late (as in a long time ago) grandfather accumulated over his life. She hasn't managed to get rid of them, keeps on wanting me to take th...
good wrist shot. one always assume this watch looks better standing alone....something admired from a distance. that was reason for me not pulling trigger....stupidly best, looks great on your wrist. Horo
Ooh I am so slow off the mark....My bad! Oh my. Oh my goodness.... Thank you pplater, it's stunning, and the photo does do it justice. It's utterly gorgeous.
I do like this strap a lot. I also have a black strap that I'll switch off for when I drive another one of our cars. Does anyone else match their straps to their cars?
Today's shot looking out of the office window toward the performing arts center here in Seoul. I will try to eat some chocolate later! Hope that one and all enjoy the upcoming weekend! Best, Gary G...
... and it shows in the photos. Nice crop, and watch and image! Hope the travels are successful. With a Dato on your wrist, how could it be otherwise? Andrew
Doing business in another culture is always challenging, but a great learning experience. Good to have something comforting on the wrist for when things get a little gnarly... Best, Gary
to see it once more By the way there are some nice/crazy photo shops in Seoul ... which I visited on Saturdays. Always full of people/photographers and some good offers ... Maybe you already know them ;-) Oliver...
Well, you'd like Korea, then I agree that the lugs are an under-appreciated bit of the Dato -- they really help a lot in keeping what is a very thick watch planted well on the wrist and looking more or less in proportion. Best, Gary
But it seemed to fit the watch, and what danger could there be from a lizard? Until they multiply and hunt you down in the closet! Good thing I didn't get a python strap!...
