The cylinder escapement predates Thomas Mudge's lever escapement and does not have a pallet fork. This is also coincidentally my first pocket watch. Very cool little mechanical marvel that is ~ 200 years old. The repeater function still works wonderfully!...

mine does not have 'Bonjour' bramd inside though which is quite interesting. But it has the Aiguilles, and the echappement text

....I remember reading that in some of these early high end watches the cylinder was made out of a single ruby! Best, John.
