The lower the better is not always true,BUT...

I buy the seller (and save some money).
I used to have a good relation with my reseller, buying & selling back with mutual confidence.
Honestly, i'd rather look for the seller with the best discount in relation to the possibility to try it and put in on the wrist.
I'm not attracted by sipping champagnes or have some free books in the boutiques, I share Prosecco with my watch-friends instead during a pleasant dinner instead
I'm not worried by the future value, but i'd be naive not to accept a discount

A question of value

Dear All, I have been in love with the VC Traditionelle 82172 (manual wind, small seconds) for well over three years now. However, what has stopped me from pulling the trigger, on what I consider to be the ultimate modern dress watch, is a question of val...

Vexing dilemma

Mustafa, I'm sure many here can relate to the dilemma you describe, not only regarding VC, but other desired brands, too. One way to resolve this issue is to bite the bullet, particularly for a watch you consider the "ultimate." My wife made this decision...

Vexed

Dear Park, My primary concern is not 'boutique premium', I would gladly pay a reasonable premium for the boutique experience. The big question is how did online watch retailers get their hands on this watch for more than 25% off retail when VC has a no-di...

On a different Note ...

I was actually gunning for a white metal myself. I think the WG has a more classic / dressy dial. But I admire the PT version as well, though the dial seems more limiting in terms of what clothes you can pair it with. Your thoughts/experiences?

Grey dials

Mustafa, I suppose how well a grey dial pairs with one's clothes depends on one's wardrobe. Everything I'd wear with a platinum VC Traditionnelle is grey, blue, or black, because all of my suits, sport coats, and jackets are those colors. Grey also goes w...

One last question!

Dear Park, I would appreciate if you could tell me how many turns of the crown it takes to fully wind the watch. This piece of information was not available online. Thank you in advance.

Winding

Sorry for the delayed response. I just saw your question. I don't know the answer, as I'm unskilled at recognizing the resistance that should be your guide and have only once worn the watch for two consecutive days. I typically wind 50 partial turns of th...

Go to an AD instead of the Vacheron boutique and negotiate a reasonable discount.

I couldn’t care less about the ego-stroking a boutique provides. Frankly it’s a turn-off for me as it’s all bought and paid for. Others do enjoy the full experience, however, so YMMV, and I cast no aspersions on what others like. Cheers, John
