Hi all! Im looking at purchasing my first proper watch and whilst it will proably be a pre-owned lower end model this will still be quite a big investment for me. I have always like Vacheron but fell in love with the 1755 Jubilee in white gold / platinum ...

The nice thing about the JLC is that you can get it in a stainless steel case, which makes the cost of entry very reasonable. The VC watches above are white gold. Bill

Actually, the caliber in the 47200 is based on the JLC 928 not the 938.

This is perhaps, probably a stupid question but how important is it to have box and papers when buying a timepiece, couldn't one get archive papers for example? Does it affect the price significantly? What if the box and papers were lost during moving to ...

would the Archives certificate not be enough? I ask because I have a AP RO, B series of which the box and papers were lost/misplaced during moving from Switzerland to Australia. Thanks. Francois

Unlike Patek Philippe, IWC and others (possibly AP, I don't know), VC discontinued issuing an extract from the archives some 20 years ago. Now, only the process I've described is available which requires you send your watch for examination and pay shippin...
