The years 2006-2007 seems to usher forth a large number of watches with brown dials from many brands. VC fell prey to the trend (fortunately, in my opinion) most famously with the rose gold Overseas Dual Time watch, limited to 250 pieces and launched at S...  

Just wonder if Chocolate doesn't work well on Vintage looking watches... Rather than on new or complicated watches... An opinon on this? Best, Nicolas

I'm trying to imagine a chocolate dial on a Patrimony Contemporaine. I don't think I would like that look at all. Breaking up the color with subdials and printing seems to make it work. Bill

Thanks for the photos, Bill! I think pink gold and chocolate dials go together like peanut butter 'n' jelly, Bogey and Bacall, and...well, you get my drift! The chocolate and white metal pairing is not as desirable to me, but still nice. I think brown dia... 

has tried it with the XXI- was is successful? Personally I am not certain.... What I have noticed though is that some watches with black dial and dark brown strap the do get a chocolaty reflection on the dial due to the strap. That is true for eg for the ... 

with their St. Exupery line of pilot watches, and AP has done it with a new dial choice on their 39mm RO Chronograph. I personally think the brown dialed watches are really interesting and quite attractive, on all of the VCs I've seen with it and IWCs rea... 

V&C's and the RG Overseas is one of my all time favorites, what a piece of real estate--you could put a mailbox on that watch! Thanks for the look and let's keep our fingers crossed for the next brown dial to grace our wrist. Best to all, Tim
