Vacheron Constantin

Thanks!

Coming from you, its an honour!

But the problem is more of a catch-22 than anything. The more information put out there about the pieces, the history, and how to spot fakes, the more 'educated' their sellers become. Looking at some postings on the bay, you can see that some sellers even make it a point to point-out the ampersand, the "Swiss", and other indicators.

The truth is that the ultimate fool-proof test is to check the numbers out with Vacheron, b/c the way I see it, some questionable pieces are becoming way too good - I mean only this month we know what happened at an auctioneer regarding a particular triple date model. But to be honest, if someone is competent enough to look for a product online, I sure hope that they are smart enough to ask about it because the bottom line is that if it is too much of a good deal chances are its a fake. In a nutshell, being fooled by a fake is not an excuse with all the information available (or one would think!) and especially with people like you and Bill and others both here and at the Hour Lounge who always try to help.

As for the fake reduction idea, we can only try to do what we can smile

Best,
Walid
