Nicolas, you've found a beauty there

my heart beats faster for the V&C, and I must share a brief story.  These "jubilee watches" with the crown between the lugs were created for their 150th anniversary in 1935 (back when they claimed a founding date of 1785).  Cleverly, they used old Lepine-type movements which were languishing in storage, which resulted in the crown at 12 o'clock to maintain seconds at 6.  The price when new was 100 CHF in steel and 200 CHF in gold.  Small yes, by today's standards, but mighty big for V&C at the time; they sold well for several years and provided needed economic stimulus during a very difficult period.

Vacheron Constantin Top Wind / Patek Philippe 5196P. An interesting side by side picture.

When you are reading the title, you are certainly wondering what's hidden behind it. The answer is simple: The dials, which are very close. Which I find very interesting. And a manual winding movement in both cases. The Patek has a platinum case, and is 3...

Both very beautiful

Pity that for the PP, the movement is too small. The only imperfection I see. All the best my friend, Alex

I must say, this style is very much my taste as i favor simple, beatiful watches the most. The grey hues and tones with polished parts in a clear, elegant composition makes these watches some of the most delicious. What a stunning set. Something very cool...

Yes, even better.

You should have picked the Vacheron Constantin . It`s a Unique Master piece and 31 mm was a typical size in its period .

Those are the best looking 31mm dress watches. Very elegant. And when you have bonny wrists just like me, they look soo good. Here’s my similar one: I’m looking for a nice black flat alligator strap for it. Best. René ...

Very nice one, René! [nt]
